Rockies Suspension footbridge nears completion

Suspension is building at Strathbogie Shire’s newest and near-completed bridge over the Rockies on Sevens Creek Euroa.

Works have progressed steadily on the new suspension footbridge, with community members learning about the intricacies of the construction process at a Sausage by the Sevens event on June 4.

About 50 people attended the sausage sizzle, held on a damp Saturday morning and cooked by Friends of the Sevens. Engineers and the bridge contractor chatted with community members and Councillors about the intricacies of the construction process of the footbridge.

The Rockies footbridge is a community-led project which will provide a connection to the Apex Community walking track, providing two-way all abilities access over the Sevens.

Weather pending, the footbridge should be completed in late July.
