Council continues to monitor Ross River Dam water levels and will commence a low volume operational release today to return the dam levels to 100 per cent.
The dam’s centre radial gate will open 0.25m from 6pm today with the release expected to conclude within 48 hours.
As occurred in February 2023, the release is a standard operation completed under controlled conditions. As experienced last year, this operational release will cause a negligible rise in the Ross River with recreational use of the river remaining open.
Once the release of water is complete, Council will stand down the Ross River Dam Emergency Action Plan and return to regular dam operations.
