Recent news of the closure of the Wangaratta RSPCA pound facility has raised concerns from Benalla Rural City residents about how this might affect them.
Please note that while the Wangaratta RSPCA pound facility will close on 31 July, this does not affect the current pound contract that Benalla Rural City has with the RSPCA, which is not currently due for renewal.
RSPCA will continue to provide contracted pound services for Benalla Rural City Council and our residents.
Arrangements have been agreed on that mean our residents will not be adversely affected as a result of the changes made in Wangaratta.
