This is an opportunity to work with a talented team and committed board and continue growing STA from strength to strength; to be a leading voice for science and technology in Australia; to build positive change; to help create a more inclusive and diverse STEM-qualified workforce; and to carve out a strong and sustainable STEM future for Australia.

STA is a key connector and brings together scientists, governments, industry, media and the broader community to advance the role, reputation and impact of science and technology in Australia. The organisation leads several high profile and successful programs including Science meets Parliament, Superstars of STEM, and the STEM Ambassadors Program.

The new CEO must be an authentic champion for diversity in STEM. STA has a clear strategic aim to support a thriving, diverse and inclusive STEM sector. The organisation has recently launched its inaugural Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Committee, with a focus on women in STEM, Indigenous STEM professionals, and scientists and technologists who identify as LGBTIQ+.

STA also prioritises best-practice approaches to diversity, and a culture of inclusivity and flexibility, within its own workforce. Incoming STA President Dr Jeremy Brownlie has made a strong commitment to maintaining STA as an employer of choice through sustainability, inclusivity and providing a flexible workplace and supporting a passionate and dynamic team.

Your ability to lead, motivate and inspire a professional and passionate team will be critical to the ongoing success of STA.
