Scully demands NSW Treasurer list nominated infrastructure projects for federal fast track

Member for Wollongong, Paul Scully has demanded the NSW Treasurer list the infrastructure projects the NSW Government nominated for federal funding for Wollongong.

Media reports suggest the Federal Government will announce specific NSW infrastructure projects funding in coming days as part of a $3.8 billion package across Australia.

Mr Scully said the people of Wollongong are entitled to know what projects the NSW Government nominated for federal funding in the local area.

“The NSW Treasurer should be able to tell us what specific infrastructure projects he nominated for Wollongong that should receive federal funding under this Federal Government package being spruiked today.

“We have been putting the case tirelessly for years now that the Maldon-Dombarton rail link should be progressed, the Picton Road should be upgraded and the South Coast Line should be improved.

“Wollongong is the third largest city in New South Wales and we have been ignored in relation to substantial ‘game changing’ infrastructure projects which will link us to south-west and Western Sydney.

“However, I bet we are going to be very disappointed that the Berejiklian Government has not nominated a single road and rail infrastructure project for federal funding from Wollongong.”
