About 3pm police located the man via helicopter in scrub land 5km west of Wurrumiyanga community in a dehydrated state. The man was swiftly recovered back to the local clinic for treatment and further medical assessment.

The SRS commend the efforts of local police and thank local community members for their assistance with the operation.

The Search Coordinator, Senior Constable Michael Bishop said, ” This incident serves as a timely reminder to carry sufficient provisions for the conditions this time of year and to always have a way to tell someone where you are.”
