Search for new National Capital Authority Chief Executive

The Australian Government is commencing a merit-based selection process to appoint a Chief Executive for the National Capital Authority, following the retirement of Ms Sally Barnes, which takes effect on 29 February 2024.

As an Australian Government statutory authority, the National Capital Authority (NCA) Board is made up of a Chair, Chief Executive and three additional members, all of whom are appointed by the Governor-General on advice from the Government.

The role of Chief Executive is a full-time position, responsible for the strategic management of the NCA, helping maintain and develop Canberra as a national capital of which all Australians can be proud.

Advertising for the position has now commenced, through national media and online recruitment platforms, with applications closing 19 November 2023.
