Second man charged after Belmore shooting, NSW

A man will face court today charged over the alleged assault and shooting of a man in Belmore last month.

About 11pm on Wednesday 25 September 2019, officers from Campsie Police Area Command attended Canterbury Hospital after a man presented with facial injuries and a gunshot wound to his leg.

Initial investigations led officers to a shop on Belmore Road, Belmore, where a crime scene was established and subsequently examined by specialist forensic officers.

A 25-year-old man was charged on Thursday 26 September 2019 and remains before the courts.

Following an investigation, detectives arrested a 35-year-old man at a Punchbowl home yesterday (Thursday 14 November 2019).

He was taken to Campsie Police Station and charged with being an accessory to discharge firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm in the company of others and take/detain person in company with intent to obtain advantage.

The man was refused bail and is due to appear before Burwood Local Court today (Friday 15 November 2019).
