Second teen charged after West Footscray aggravated carjackings

A 16-year-old boy from the Wyndham area has been charged with three counts of aggravated carjacking.

He was remanded to appear before a children’s court on 16 October.

The charges follow three incidents in which a group of six male offenders riding motorcycles allegedly assaulted three motorcyclists in the vicinity of Sunshine Road between 12am and 11pm on 19 September.

The first incident occurred on Napier Street, where a 40-year-old man was pulled over on the side of the road before the offenders boxed him in about 12.20am.

The man was assaulted and his motorbike stolen.

Later that night, the group allegedly approached a female rider on Sunshine Road about 11pm.

It is alleged the victim, a 27-year-old Wantirna South woman, was shoved from her motorcycle before being tasered and assaulted with a baton.

Westgate Divisional Response Unit detectives executed search warrants in the Wyndham area, where the teen was arrested.
