The Security Council holds a briefing today at 10 a.m. on the Secretary-General’s biennial report on the implementation of the Peace, Security and Cooperation Framework for the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Region ( S/2025/615 ). The report outlines the latest security and humanitarian situations, political developments and human rights in the region. The Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for the Great Lakes Region, Huang Xia, is expected to brief.
