On 5 June 2026, the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1533 (2004) concerning the Democratic Republic of the Congo held informal consultations during which the Coordinator of the Group of Experts presented the Group’s final report.
Committee members expressed deep concern regarding the continued deterioration of the security and humanitarian situation in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo and urged all parties to fully comply with their obligations and implement relevant Security Council resolutions, including resolutions 2773 (2025) and 2808 (2025).
Committee members also discussed possible actions by the Chair in connection with the recommendations contained in the report.
