Self-quarantine – non-compliance in Darwin

NT Police have issued an infringement notice to a 52-year old male in Darwin for failing to abide by the directions of the Chief Health Officer.

The male returned from overseas on the 23rd March and was subject to a 14-days self-quarantine order.

The infringement penalty is $1,099.

NT Police and Environmental Health Officers supported by the Australian Defence Force are ensuring Territorians are complying with self-isolation and self-quarantine arrangements.

Compliance checks will also ensure overseas and interstate arrivals to the Territory are adhering to their 14 day self-quarantine period as explained and committed to upon arrival into the Territory.

The public can be assured that fines will be issued to anyone not respecting the community and doing the right thing.
