A senior constable from the Southern Metropolitan Region has been charged following an internal investigation.
The 37-year-old male officer has been charged with one count of assault.
The charge relates to an alleged incident in Dandenong South on 3 January 2021 while the member was on duty.
He has been summonsed to appear at court at a later date.
