Serious pedestrian crash – Riverstone

A child has been seriously injured after a crash in Sydney’s west.

About 3pm today (Wednesday 22 November 2023), emergency services responded to reports that a 12-year-old boy had been hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Piccadilly Street and Castlereagh Street, Riverstone.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the boy at the scene where he was taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a serious condition.

The driver – a 35-year-old woman who was uninjured – was taken to Blacktown Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers form Riverstone Police Area Command established a crime scene that was examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.

As investigations continue police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash – or has any available dashcam/mobile phone footage – to contact Riverstone Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
