Forensic Crash Unit officers are investigating after a 4WD struck a power pole in Barron tonight.
At 7.45pm police, attended a crash on Kamerunga Road in which a white 2015 Volkswagen Amarok has left the roadway and stuck a power pole, before coming to a stop in a ditch.
The driver, a 42-year-old Edmonton man, remains in Cairns Hospital in a critical condition.
Investigators are appealing for anyone with further information or relevant vision to contact police.
