Severe Heatwave Coming

Perth is going to be very hot for the rest of the week with a Severe Heatwave forecast from Thursday.

Heatwaves are the deadliest natural hazard because they impact those with pre-existing vulnerabilities, including elderly people, very young children, pregnant women, those with medical conditions and people who are socially isolated.

Keep cool and remember to check on elderly neighbours and friends and relatives, especially those living alone.

Babies and children are especially at risk from dehydration. Keep them safe by encouraging children to drink plenty of water.

Ensure pets are well hydrated and have plenty of shady spots outside.

The Red Cross has lots of simple steps to ensure you have all the information you need, connect with your support network, get organised and know what to do in case how to prepare.
