Sex Crimes Squad detectives charge man with alleged online child grooming offences – St Marys

Sex Crimes Squad detectives have charged a man with alleged child groom offences in Sydney’s west.

Strike Force Trawler is an ongoing investigation by State Crime Command’s Sex Crimes Squad Child Exploitation Internet Unit (CEIU) into the sexual abuse and exploitation of children facilitated through the internet and related telecommunications devices.

In June 2026, strike force detectives commenced an investigation into the online activities of a 32-year-old man.

About 6.15am yesterday (Tuesday 4 August 2026) strike force detectives executed a search warrant in St Marys North, seizing multiple electronic devices.

A 32-year-old man was arrested and taken to St Marys Police Station, where he was charged with use carriage service-procure under 16 sexual activity and intentionally distribute intimate image without consent (DV).

He was refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court today (Wednesday 5 August 2026).
