Sexual assault at Flinders Street station

Transit Crime Investigation Unit is investigating a sexual assault at Flinders Street Station in January.

Investigators have been told a 26-year-old woman arrived on platform 4 on an Upfield line train about 6.50pm on 19 January.

As she left the station she was approached by two men, one of them touched her inappropriately from behind multiple times before they both ran off toward Swanston Street.

The man is perceived to be Caucasian, aged in his 20s and was approximately 168cm tall.

Investigators have released an image and CCTV footage of a man police believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
