Shellharbour City Council offering three UOW scholarships

Shellharbour City Council is offering three University of Wollongong (UOW) scholarships.

Shellharbour Mayor Marianne Saliba urged local university students that fit the criteria to apply.

“As we know, university study can be extremely costly. The recipients of these scholarships are sure to have that financial burden eased and Council is delighted to be able to offer this invaluable opportunity,” Cr Saliba said.

Aims to recognise and reward student’s contribution to their local community.

2019 Shellharbour City Council (Best Team Practice) Work Integrated Learning Scholarship

The Work Integrated Learning Scholarship applies to second year or penultimate year student studying a Bachelor of Commerce (Dean’s scholar), Bachelor of Commerce (Management) or a Bachelor of Business.

UOW students are given the opportunity to gain valuable and relevant work experience in team collaboration and organisational performance while receiving significant financial assistance.

The successful applicant will undertake a review of how Shellharbour City Council’s operational work groups/teams currently function with recommendations on how to develop high performing teams.

2019 Shellharbour City Council (Best Practice Performance Management) Work Integrated Learning Scholarship

The Work Integrated Learning Scholarship applies to secondary or penultimate year students studying a Bachelor of Commerce (Dean’s scholar), Bachelor of Commerce (management) or a Bachelor of Commerce (Human resource Management).

UOW students are given the opportunity to gain valuable and relevant work experience in Human Resource Management while receiving significant financial assistance.

The successful applicant will develop a Performance Management Toolkit for managers and supervisors to refer to for staff performance management purposes.

The tool will set out a performance management process from start to finish with supporting resources that reflect Council’s core values and core behaviours.
