Shopping Precinct Spruce-up For Hampton Park

An upgrade of the Hampton Park Retail Precinct is now underway, with works happening over the coming months to update shopfronts, improve pedestrian safety, replace signage and install planter boxes and public murals.

The work is funded by a $250,000 grant through Business Victoria that is directly aimed at rejuvenating retail precincts with a strong multicultural character. Council has also contributed $50,000 for landscaping around the adjacent Arthur Wren Hall and Hampton Park Library, helping to make the overall precinct more attractive to visitors.

Every effort is being made to keep disruptions to a minimum and the car parks and businesses will remain open while work is taking place.

City of Casey Mayor, Cr Michelle Crowther said the work was an investment in the future of the area, helping to create a more attractive and vibrant activity centre for businesses, residents and visitors.

“These upgrades will improve the centre’s accessibility and appearance, which not only supports local businesses but also creates a better experience for residents, shoppers and visitors,” Cr Crowther said.

Councillor Lynette Pereira said: “This grant is specifically aimed at supporting shopping precincts that demonstrate multicultural diversity in the mix of businesses that are located there, and the Hampton Park Retail Precinct is a great and successful example of this.”

“We know this is a busy community hub, and we ask local residents to be patient while this transformative work is occurring to make it an even more exciting destination for people to work and shop.”
