Shot fired at Bald Hills

Investigators are appealing for witnesses to an incident where a shot was fired into a vehicle travelling southbound on Gympie Arterial Road at Bald Hills this afternoon.

The incident is believed to have occurred around 1pm near the Pine River Bridge when a silver Audi containing four occupants was seen driving dangerously before pulling up beside a white Colorado utility.

A short time later the driver of the ute noticed one of the occupants point what is believed to be a firearm out a window.

Just prior to the Linkfield Road overpass, the driver heard a loud noise and observed the silver Audi accelerate away at speed using the linkfield Road exit.

The driver, a 24-year-old man, pulled over and noticed what appeared to be a hole in the rear left passenger door.

He then drove to Carseldine police station where a projectile was located inside the vehicle.

The man did not sustain any injuries.

Investigators are appealing for anyone travelling on Pine Rivers Bridge and Linkfield Road, who witnessed a silver Audi or with dash cam footage between 1pm and 1.20pm, to contact police.

Investigations are continuing.
