Smash and grab at Canterbury jewellery store

Boroondara Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after a jewellery store was burgled in the early hours of this morning.

Police have been told a resident nearby heard what sounded like breaking glass in the vicinity of the Maling Road store around 1.40am.

Attending police and the store owners found the front door had been smashed and the store ransacked.

It is believed the offender made off with a quantity of specialty jewellery, including distinctive Israeli jewellery pieces of significant value.
