Smoother Ride For BMX Track In Trafalgar

Riders are in for a smoother and safer experience following completion of improvement works at the Trafalgar BMX track.

Recent upgrades include a complete track regrade with jumps, straights and berms reshaped and enhanced to provide a safer, faster and more enjoyable riding. The project also included drainage improvements to support the track’s long-term sustainability and resilience.

Baw Baw Shire Mayor Councillor Kate Wilson said it was great to see this project complete and ready for riders to enjoy.

“Facilities like this play an important role in encouraging active recreation and creating opportunities for young people to stay active and connected within the community”, the Mayor said.

“We thank the community for their patience while we delivered this project and we’re happy to see the facility reopened, refreshed and ready for use.”

East Ward Councillor Brendan Kingwill said the project is all about supporting the growing BMX community.

“The aim of this project was to create a space where young riders can build confidence, stay active and have fun in a safe environment close to home”, Cr Kingwill said.

“We appreciate the support of the local BMX community throughout the planning and delivery of these upgrades and look forward to seeing riders enjoy the refreshed track into the future.”

Valued at $26,000 this investment reflects Council’s continued commitment to supporting local sport and active recreation infrastructure.
