More Support For Australia’s Wine Producers

The Hon Julie Collins MP
Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry

The Albanese Labor Government continues to back Australia’s wine and horticulture industries, with over $4 million in new funding being delivered to support growers and producers.

The $2.6 million NSW Wine Recovery Program is now open for applications, and is designed to help build resilience, strengthen regional capability and grow demand for NSW wines.

Grants between $20,000 and $100,000 are available to strengthen regional industry capability, including developing regional and emerging leadership, mental health and business resilience programs and initiatives that build the capability of regional wine grape growers and wine producers.

A second stream offers grants of between $20,000 and $250,000 to boost demand for NSW wine, including consumer-focused campaigns promoting NSW wine regions, domestic familiarisation visits, and support for industry participation at trade shows and events.

The Albanese Labor Government is also investing $1.45 million to strengthen Victoria’s wine and horticulture industries through initiatives that support industry resilience, sustainability and biosecurity.

This includes $850,000 to support the Victorian Wine Strategy, helping producers to adapt to changing market conditions and build a stronger future for the industry, and over $600,000 to strengthen the management of fruit flies in Victorian horticultural production areas.

The strategy, which was co-designed with industry, will support more growers to achieve Sustainable Winegrowing Australia certification, helping producers with initiatives that strengthen biosecurity capability, including skills development and surveillance, containment and monitoring activities.

These investments will help wine producers in NSW and Victoria respond to ongoing global oversupply, changing market conditions, while strengthening regional communities.

Australia remains the fifth largest producer and exporter of wine in the world, with exports valued at $2.25 billion in the year to September 2026.

Since coming to office, the Albanese Labor Government has delivered more than $105 million to support Australia’s grape and wine sector, helping producers manage market challenges, pursue new export opportunities and strengthen industry resilience.
