Snap up your tickets to Sharks v Cowboys

Sunshine Coast footy fans can jump the queue for tickets to the Sharks v Cowboys NRL clash at Sunshine Coast Stadium on Saturday May 16.

Sunshine Coast residents can log on to the Ticketek website and use the code word ‘SCLOCAL’ when prompted, to purchase tickets from 9am on Friday, January 31, one day before they go on sale to the general public. Sharks Members can purchase tickets to the Round 10 clash from 9am on Thursday, January 30.

Mayor Mark Jamieson urged Sunshine Coast footy fans to take advantage of the local ‘early bird’ ticket release to ensure they don’t miss out on the blockbuster clash.

“Our inaugural NRL match in April last year was played before a sell-out crowd at Sunshine Coast Stadium, so if you’re thinking about going along to watch the Sharks and Cowboys on May 16, get in early this Friday to secure your spot at the game,” Mayor Jamieson said.

“People attending the match will be treated to the full experience of a Sharks home game right here on the Sunshine Coast.

“We know there’s also sure to be plenty of support and interest in the Cowboys too, especially with Valentine Holmes suiting up against his former club.

“Council has worked to increase the Sunshine Coast’s presence in the NRL and this year we will be the only regional destination in Australia to have two NRL teams in the Sharks and Rabbitohs bringing home games to our region in 2020.”

Former Sharks legend Brett Kimmorley visited Sunshine Coast Stadium today and urged Sharks fans to pack out their ‘home away from home’ on May 16.

“The Sharks club is very excited to be playing home games at Sunshine Coast Stadium in 2020 and 2021 and we really want our members and fans to get on board and make this venue look and feel just like a Sharks home game on Saturday, May 16,” he said.

“Sunshine Coast Stadium is a terrific venue for NRL and the Sunshine Coast is a beautiful place to visit so my advice to Sharks members and fans is to plan ahead and ensure they’re here at Sunshine Coast Stadium ready to cheer on the Sharks and outnumber the Cowboys supporters!”
