Soccer club needed to kick goals in Doreen

Expressions of interest open July 1 for a soccer club to start warming up the benches at the new Painted Hills Recreation Reserve in Doreen.

The new reserve, which will open later this year, is located on the corner of Eminence Road and Painted Hills Road, and includes two soccer fields, sports lighting, a community pavilion with four change rooms, a social space and car parking.

The $7.3 million project is jointly funded by City of Whittlesea ($3.45M), Victorian Government’s Growing Suburbs Fund ($3.275M) and Football Federation Australia and the Asian Cup 2015 Legacy Fund ($650,000).

Interested groups are invited to tour the new facility on Wednesday 10 July from 6-8pm or Saturday 20 July from 10am-12 noon.

Prospective groups will be assessed on criteria including club name, club colours and logo, club vision, and club development.

All perspective applicants must attend one of the open for inspection sessions.

Submissions close Friday 28 July.
