COVID Cases in SA
There have been 3,796 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 26,634 active cases in South Australia.
There are 231 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including nine people in ICU and one person ventilated. Of those hospitalised, 117 people had received three or more vaccine doses and 114 people are either unvaccinated, partially vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants
The latest genome sampling from 1 to 7 May has found 100% of samples taken were BA.2.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 9,082 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 17.3% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 2,158 PCR tests were positive, while 1,638 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.

Currently 95.5% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 93.6% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 72% of eligible South Australians and 66.3% of South Australians aged 16+.
