COVID Cases in SA
There have been 3,482 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 32,366 active cases in South Australia.
Following further clarification this afternoon, SA Health has revised the total of deaths since last reporting period to three deaths. Sadly, SA Health can confirm a man in his 70s, a man in his 80s, and a woman in her 70s who tested positive for COVID-19 have passed away.
There are 294 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 23 people in ICU and four people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 169 people are fully vaccinated, 51 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 74 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases have been readjusted.

Variants
Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 81% of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 15,409 people received a PCR test in South Australia, a 15.7% increase on the previous 24 hours.
Vaccination update
Currently 93.6% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine, 89.9% have received their second dose and there were 15,929 booster shots given yesterday bringing the total booster shots to 385,077.
