COVID Cases in SA

There have been 3,053 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 24,475 active cases in South Australia.

Sadly, SA Health can confirm two men in their 80s who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.

There are 224 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including eight people in ICU. Of those hospitalised, 111 people have received three or more vaccine doses and 113 people are either unvaccinated, partially vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    Variants

    The latest genome sampling from 1 to 15 May has found 99% of samples taken were BA.2.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 8,720 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 5.3% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,624 PCR tests were positive, while 1,429 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
