COVID Cases in SA

There have been 3,127 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 24,161 active cases in South Australia.

There are 238 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 10 people in ICU. Of those hospitalised, 113 people have received three or more vaccine doses and 125 people are either unvaccinated, partially vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    Variants

    The latest genome sampling from 1 to 15 May has found 99% of samples taken were BA.2.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 7,694 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is an 11.8% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,502 PCR tests were positive, while 1,625 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.

    Vaccination update

    Currently 95.7% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 93.8% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 72.4% of eligible South Australians and 67% of South Australians aged 16+.
