COVID Cases in SA

There have been 3,175 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 28,113 active cases in South Australia.

Sadly, SA Health can confirm a man in his 70s, two men in their 80s, two women in their 80s and a woman in her 90s who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.

There are 247 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 11 people in ICU, with one person requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 173 people are fully vaccinated, 67 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 7 have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    Variants

    The latest genome sampling has found around 93% of samples taken were BA.2.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 7,471 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 16% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,760 PCR tests were positive, while 1,415 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
