COVID cases in SA

There have been 439 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 4,869 active cases in South Australia.

There are 153 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 7 people in ICU. Of those hospitalised, 109 people have received three or more vaccine doses, 39 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 5 have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants

The latest genome sampling has found 2.1% of samples analysed were BA.2, 6.2% of samples analysed were BA.4 and 87.5% of samples analysed were BA.5 or related variant.

COVID testing

Yesterday, 2,991 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 36.4% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 191 PCR tests were positive, while 248 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
