COVID cases in SA

There have been 382 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 3,784 active cases in South Australia.

There are 94 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including nine people in ICU, with one person ventilated. Of those hospitalised, 70 people have received three or more vaccine doses, 20 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and four have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants

The latest genome sampling has found 3.1% of samples analysed were BA.2, 3.1% of samples analysed were BA.4 and 91.8% of samples analysed were BA.5 or related variant.

COVID testing

Yesterday, 3,362 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 3% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 191 PCR tests were positive, while 191 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
