South Hedland fatal crash

Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred in South Hedland last night, Wednesday 23 October 2019.

About 7.35pm, a white 200 series Toyota Landcruiser wagon was travelling north on Wallwork Road when it collided with a silver Holden Berlina sedan that was travelling south on the same road.

The 55-year-old driver of the Berlina received serious injuries and was conveyed to hospital. A passenger in the vehicle, a woman in her 50s received critical injuries and died at the scene.

The 38-year-old female driver of the Landcruiser was conveyed to hospital with minor injuries.

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw the crash, or the Toyota Landcruiser or Holden Berlina travelling in the area prior to the crash, and ask anyone who was in the vicinity around the time of the crash who has dash-cam vision to come forward.

Motorists in the area are advised that there will be traffic delays north bound on Wallwork Road near Pinga Street and if possible, avoid the area.
