Speeding drink driver intercepted in Tarneit

Police from Westage Highway Patrol intercepted a woman allegedly speeding and drink driving in Tarneit this morning.

The police members were travelling on Derrimut Road in Tarneit just after 1am when a black Mazda SUV passed them at an alleged 92km/h in a 40km/h zone.

The driver, a 29-year-old Tarneit woman was intercepted and police allegedly located one child unrestrained in the back seat.

She returned an alleged breath test of 0.115.

The vehicle was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1006.10

The woman’s licence was immediately suspended and she is expected to be charged on summons with drink driving, speeding and carrying an unrestrained child related offences.
