Speeding rider arrested in southern suburbs

A man has been arrested after he was caught speeding on the wrong side of the road overnight at Morphett Vale.

Just after 12.30am, Tuesday 10 January, patrols spotted a Honda motorcycle travelling at speed on the wrong side of Doctors Road.

PolAir was proactively flying at the time and followed the rider along Panatalinga Road and into Happy Valley where the rider was seen to stop at a house. Patrols were directed to the property where they arrested the rider after a short foot chase.

The 23-year-old from Happy Valley, has been charged with speeding, hinder police, ride unregistered and uninsured and may face further traffic charges pending review of footage from PolAir.

He has been bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on 20 January. His motorcycle was also impounded for 28 days.
