The St Arnaud Early Learning Centre will be closed until further notice from 6pm on Wednesday 18 March 2020.

The ELC will close its doors until further notice to ensure the health of our young residents is protected from the Coronavirus pandemic.

Important infection control measures have been implemented over the past couple of weeks in other areas within council’s services.

Northern Grampians Shire Council Mayor, Murray Emerson, thanked the community for their understanding during this time.

“Protecting the health of our residents, young and old, is incredibly important so we have decided to further limit the risk of COVID-19 transmissions by closing the St Arnaud ELC for the time being,” he said.

“The centre is a community location where people gather which increases the likelihood of spreading the illness and we want to do everything we can to reduce that risk.”

The ELC community including parents, carers, and guardians have been notified via email of the closure and council will continue to review and monitor the situation and follow health department recommendations.

Daily updates and information will be provided to families via email and the StoryPark App and we will advise all families when the ELC service will re-open.
