St Kilda East attempted abduction

Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating an attempted abduction in St Kilda East last week.

It is believed a 16-year-old girl was walking on the corner of Hotham Street and Denman Avenue about 5.50pm on Wednesday, 18 October.

Officers have been told the girl was approached by an unknown man, before he repeatedly asked her if she wanted to go somewhere with him.

Investigators believe the man has then grabbed her by the arm, before trying to force her into a white coloured sedan, registration unknown.

The girl managed to pull her arm free from the man, before fleeing on foot.

She was not physically injured.

Detectives have released a computer-generated image of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

He is described as being in his 20’s or early 30’s and around 179cms tall.

He had short black hair that was longer at the front and styled with gel.

He was seen wearing a navy-blue t-shirt with a white PUMA logo on the front, and black pants.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, has dashcam footage or any other information that could assist police with their enquiries is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
