Stage Two of the Derby Road beautification project is now underway with works commencing this week.

As part of the project, a new water saving irrigation system and 24 new Japanese Elm trees will be installed along the median strip, between Rinaldi Drive and Carramar Nursery.

The works are being delivered by Central Goldfields Shire Council’s Parks and Gardens team and are funded as part of Council’s 2021/22 Budget.

The project is part of the entry beautification program.

Stage One of the project included the planting of 30 Japanese Elm trees, installing irrigation and lining the median strip with Tuscan stones.

Central Goldfields Shire Maryborough Ward Cr Geoff Lovett said he is excited to see the project complete.

“Derby Road is the main entrance into Maryborough from Ballarat and it is so important we are putting our best foot forward when welcoming visitors. I look forward to seeing this project complete.”
