Acclaimed US band The Killers will headline the Adelaide 500’s after-race concerts, as the race makes its return to the streets of Adelaide in December.

The race will be officially known as the VALO Adelaide 500, after the Adelaide-based advanced technology and lighting company secured the naming rights.

The after-race concerts will kick-off on Friday night (December 2) with local rock act Teenage Joans joined by Australian artists Lime Cordiale, The Presets and indigenous superstar Baker Boy.

Saturday night (December 3) will feature Australian rock legends Jimmy Barnes, Icehouse and Noiseworks.

The Killers will be joined on Sunday night (December 4) by a special guest to be announced in coming weeks.

All VALO Adelaide 500 ticket holders will get access to the after-race concerts.

Six local acts will also be announced in the coming weeks to join the huge line-up of artists as part of the MusicSA Bands on Track Series.

In addition to Supercars, the VALO Adelaide 500 will also feature the following race categories:

  • Dunlop Super2 Series
  • Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS
  • Gulf Western Oil Touring Car Masters
  • S5000 Tasman Series

It has also been announced that this year’s VALO Adelaide 500 will be the most affordable in a decade, with ticket prices wound back 10 years, in recognition of the cost of living pressures facing South Australians.

Premier Peter Malinauskas said the star-studded list of local, national and global musical acts marked the return of the VALO Adelaide 500.

“There really is something here for everybody, from the global pulling power of The Killers, to Australian rock legends such as Barnsey to local rising stars such as Teenage Joans,” he said.

“And the best bit is South Australians can experience all of this for the same price as it was a decade ago.

“I can’t wait for the VALO Adelaide 500 to return to our city streets, bringing with it hundreds of jobs, thousands of visitors and millions of dollars’ worth of economic activity.”
