  • State Budget supports construction of $13.5 million new police facility at Caloundra South
  • State Budget supports construction of new $8.5 million Fire and Rescue Station at Caloundra South

The State Budget is supporting the construction of major new frontline community safety infrastructure projects on the Sunshine Coast.

The state government is investing $22 million to construct a new police facility and a new Fire and Rescue Station at Caloundra South.

When the new police facility is completed, the facility will host 30 police officers.

They will include general duties officers, and investigators attached to the Criminal Investigation Branch and Child Protection and Investigation Unit.

Construction of the new police facility is expected to be completed next years, depending on weather and other variables.

Construction of the new Fire and Rescue Station, which will be co-located at the same site, is also expected to be complected next year, weather and other variables permitting.

The new Fiore and Rescue Station will host 23 firefighters.

The new facilities will provide vital support to community safety in what is a rapidly growing area of the Sunshine Coast.
