Statement from Hills Council regarding Parliamentary Inquiry

We understand that any time there is an inquiry, it’s natural residents may have questions. While the inquiry took a broad look at developers, political parties and Council, it’s important to note no findings were made against our organisation, our staff or the decisions of Council. Indeed, the committee expressed appreciation to the General Manager and Council staff for their level of cooperation.

These findings follow a recent NSW Audit Office examination of Council’s development assessment processes. The report, which was tabled in Parliament, concluded that Council has an outstanding reputation for conducting compliant, quality assessment of development applications. It also highlighted the level of expertise and professionalism with which Council does so.

Both examinations prove that people can have confidence in Council’s decision making and processes. We remain focused on continuing to provide the services and facilities that residents expect and have come to rely upon.
