A stolen car rammed a police car several times at Glanville overnight.
The white BMW sedan was stolen, along with the keys, during a break-in at Sheidow Park about 11.30pm on Friday 11 January. Two men entered the Enginehouse Drive home and stole the car keys. When the occupant confronted them he was punched in the face and kicked.
The victim sustained bruising and did not require medical treatment.
The suspects fled in the stolen BMW, in company with four other men in a blue Holden Commodore sedan.
A short time later, about 12.15am on Saturday 12 January, a patrol spotted a white BMW sedan parked in Rosetta Street, Glanville. As police approached the vehicle, two men ran and jumped into it. The police car blocked the BMW and was rammed up to seven times before the BMW drove off.
Fortunately, the police officers were not injured during the incident.
Another patrol car nearby pursued the stolen car for a short distance before terminating for safety reasons. The stolen BMW was spotted several times by police as it travelled along Semaphore Road, across the Nelson Street bridge into Port Adelaide, then onto St Vincent Street and Bedford Street.
The stolen car was later found dumped in Minch Avenue, Ferryden about 1.50am. Police cordoned off the area and searched with the assistance of Police Dog Ruger, but did not find the suspects.
They are described as young men of Aboriginal appearance.
