Stolen car located at Port Adelaide, South Australia

A man has been arrested after Police located a stolen car allegedly used in a robbery at Sefton Park late last week.

Just before 12.30am on Monday 3 February, western district patrols spotted a blue Ford Laser on Grand Junction Road at Port Adelaide. Enquiries revealed the car had been stolen from a city address on Friday 31 January.

Police followed the vehicle on to Mary Street at Ethelton where the vehicle sped away from them.

Detectives were searching the area and located the stolen Ford on Willimott Street, where two men ran from the vehicle.

A 60-year-old man from Ethelton was arrested nearby without incident and charged with illegal use. He was granted bail to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on 2 March.

The second suspect is still outstanding. He is described as Caucasian and was wearing a baseball cap and a hoodie.

The stolen vehicle is alleged to have been used in a robbery on Friday 31 January where a where a man jumped the counter of a fast food restaurant on Main North Road and demanded cash. No weapons were sighted and the suspect left with an amount of cash. Thankfully no one was physically injured.
