Stolen Motor Vehicle In Darwin

The Northern Territory Police Force is investigating after a vehicle was stolen from a residence in Darwin yesterday.

Around 10:05am, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received a report that a white MG had been stolen from a residence in Milner.

At 1:45pm, the MG was sighted by police travelling outbound on Bagot Road and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit was terminated a short time later on Trower Road after the vehicle allegedly began driving dangerously, including on the incorrect side of the road.

Shortly before 2pm, a separate unmarked police vehicle that was patrolling and searching for the stolen vehicle collided with a civilian vehicle at the intersection of McMillans Road and Matthews Road.

The civilian driver was conveyed to hospital for assessment of minor injuries by St John Ambulance, and the driver of the police vehicle received treatment at a clinic for minor injuries. Both were the sole occupants of the two vehicles.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

The stolen motor vehicle remains outstanding and anyone with information is urged to contact police on 131 444. Anonymous reports can be made through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via https://crimestoppersnt.com.au.
