Queensland Police have charged two people after a stolen vehicle was intercepted at Ascot last night, August 11.
It will be alleged around 12:45am, officers were conducting patrols of the Ascot area before they observed a blue MG hatchback parked at a business on Lancaster Road.
When the officer’s vehicle approached the parked MG, it is alleged the vehicle reversed into the front of the police vehicle, causing damage to the right headlight.
The vehicle was then driven further into the car park before stopping and reversing again towards the police vehicle.
The male driver then allegedly got out of the vehicle and ran towards a nearby boundary fence, attempting to scale it before running back into the car park area.
Police managed to contain the driver and took him into custody.
A female passenger in the vehicle was also taken into custody.
Further enquiries indicated that the vehicle had been reported stolen from an Eagle Farm business on Saturday, August 5.
A 27-year-old Bellbird Park man has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, receiving tainted property and possess dangerous drugs.
He was remanded in custody to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on August 15.
A 20-year-old Logan Central woman was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
She is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on August 24.
