Strike Force Trident cracks down on property offences

Northern Territory Police have charged three boys, aged 12, 13 and 16, for property related offending in the Greater Darwin Region over the weekend.

Strike Force Trident Detectives and Dog Operations Unit arrested the three boys yesterday for their involvement in multiple unlawful entries, three stolen vehicles and other criminal damage offences throughout the Darwin CBD, Northern Suburbs and Palmerston.

The 12-year-old was charged with:

  1. Aggravated burglary – building x 4
  2. Damage to property x 9
  3. Attempted aggravated burglary – building x 1
  4. Aggravated burglary – dwelling x 1
  5. Theft x 6
  6. Trespass on premises x 3
  7. Use vehicle without consent x 2
  8. Drive unlicensed x 2
  9. Drive under the influence of alcohol x 2
  10. Drive vehicle recklessly x 1
  11. Not stop after crash x 1
  12. Drive manner dangerous during pursuit x 1
  13. Serious breach of bail x 1

The 13-year-old was charged with:

  1. Aggravated burglary – building x 2
  2. Damage to property x 4
  3. Theft x 3
  4. Trespass on premises x 2
  5. Use vehicle without consent x 2
  6. Drive unlicensed x 1
  7. Serious breach of bail x 1

The 16-year-old was charged with:

  1. Aggravated burglary – building x 1
  2. Aggravated burglary – dwelling x 1
  3. Attempted aggravated burglary – building x 1
  4. Use vehicle without consent x 2
  5. Damage to property x 2
  6. Theft x 2
  7. Trespass on premises x 1
  8. Serious breach of bail x 1

All youths will appear in court today.

Investigations are ongoing to identify the remaining 7 offenders believed to be involved in the incidents.
