Northern Territory Police have made multiple arrests and recovered a substantial amount of stolen property yesterday afternoon.
Detectives from Strike Force Trident and Dog Operations arrested two adult males after executing a search warrant on a property at Darwin River.
The search recovered a significant amount of stolen property including, multiple trucks, caravans, trailers, and motorbikes.
The two men at the property attempted to flee but were quickly arrested by attending police.
In a separate incident, a Toyota Hilux, excavator, and a generator were reported stolen from an address in Pinelands.
Trident were able to track the Toyota and generator to a residential block in Virginia and later located the excavator abandoned in Darwin River on a dirt track in bushland.
Another adult male was arrested at the Virginia address and all three of these alleged offenders have since been charged.
Several other arrests were made in relation to separate property offences including unlawful entry and burglary.
Senior Sergeant Christopher Humphries said, “Our detectives will be spending the majority of today returning a huge amount of property to victims.
“This is a significant seizure for our unit, and I commend the officers for working tirelessly to locate the stolen goods.
“A lot of these objects are people’s livelihoods, and things people work hard for their families to enjoy.
“The actions of these individuals are reprehensible, and we will continue to prosecute those who break the law.”
