Superannuation Commission – Future Structure

Peter Gutwein,Premier & Treasurer

The Superannuation Commission is the Trustee of the Retirement Benefits Fund (RBF) and oversees the administration of the RBF defined benefit schemes.

The Superannuation Commission was initially established in 2017 as a three member Commission to oversee the implementation phase, including the transition to an outsourced administration provider.

The transition period is now complete and it is appropriate time to move towards a single member Commission effective from 1 October 2020.

I am pleased that the current Chair of the Superannuation Commission, Ms Evelyn Horton, will stay on as the Commissioner of the Superannuation Commission.

Ms Horton has a wealth of experience in the financial sector and a detailed understanding of the superannuation sector along with strong investment management skills.

I would like to thank the outgoing Commissioners, Ms Leigh Mackey and Mr Chris Bevan for their significant contribution to the Commission and the Retirement Benefits Fund Board.
