With restrictions still advising Victorians to work from home, we are encouraging all our members to celebrate the day online.

Take Your Dog to Work Day celebrates the joys of canine companionship.

Interactions with our four-legged friends can have a huge positive influence on our own health and wellbeing and the health and wellbeing of our colleagues.

Studies have shown employees who bring their dogs to work experience lower stress levels, higher job satisfaction and increased productivity.

Now that we are celebrating this day at home, all animal lovers can bring their furry friends online.

Here are the top three reasons you should bring your pets online this Friday.

  • Icebreakers

Dogs are a great way to get everyone talking. Dogs help people loosen up, feel friendlier, and they create an easy way to initially interact with someone.

  • Stress reduction

The International Journal of Workplace Health Management study found that workers’ stress levels decreased throughout the day when they had brought their pets into work, whereas the stress levels of workers without pets increased throughout the day.

  • Improved heath

Pets help reduce many different heath conditions including blood pleasure and cholesterol and overall wellbeing.

Take Your Dog to Work Day was first celebrated in 1996 to help educate people about the importance of saving animals from a rescue shelter and the streets.

RSPCA Victoria continues to give vital care to animals. To find out how you can get involved head to the RSPCA Victoria website.
